About

PURPOSE

The VAC was established as a result of legislation to provide advice, guidance, recommendations and technical assistance to vendors and to assist the regional center in carrying out its mandated functions. In essence, this committee is run by you and for you.

Since introduction, the VAC has established many services and supports for vendors such as:

The Vendor Fair – an event that provides a connection to consumers and their families and where you can market and promote your program and services.

Trainings – Educational and informative trainings to keep you abreast of legislative issues and concerns that impact you and other stakeholders. Topics include SIR reporting, Financial and Program Auditing and more.

Speakers Bureau – Featuring presentations from industry leaders on topics such as self-insurance, human resources policies and procedures, compliance and understanding the law, disability rights, employment for individuals with disabilities and many others.

MISSION

The mission of this committee is to build bridges that lead to successful relationships and outcomes for people with developmental disabilities. Keeping person centered planning first, we will proactively establish solid relationships with our stakeholders including consumers, regional center service coordinators, local officials and other vested parties.
